Khata: selling on credit
Giving goods on khata
- On the Sell screen, add the customer to the bill (search by name or phone, or add a new one).
- Tap Pay and choose Khata (on credit). Part of a bill can be khata and the rest cash or UPI.
A bill with no customer cannot go on khata: QuickBills asks you to add one.
Seeing who owes what
Khata in the main menu lists every customer who owes you, the total owed, and when each last bought and last paid. Tap a customer to see every entry.
Taking a payment
Open the customer and tap Take payment: the amount, and whether it came in cash or by UPI or bank. A part payment is fine.
Reminders
Tap the WhatsApp button next to a customer: your WhatsApp opens with a polite reminder of the amount, and a UPI link to pay if your shop’s UPI ID is on your bill (Settings › Printers, what the bill shows). You press send, from your own number.
Returns
When goods bought on khata are returned, the amount comes off the customer’s khata.
