Using a barcode scanner
QuickBills works with any barcode scanner that types like a keyboard, which is nearly all of them, and with the camera of an Android phone or tablet.
USB scanners
Plug it in. There is nothing to install. On the Sell screen, scan: the product is added to the bill.
Bluetooth scanners
Pair the scanner in the phone’s or computer’s Bluetooth settings, in its keyboard (HID) mode; its manual has a barcode that switches it. Then scan on the Sell screen.
The camera
On Chrome for Android, tap the barcode button next to the search box and hold the packet in front of the camera.
Check it
The setup guide’s Check your barcode scanner step opens a screen where each scan shows what was read and which product has that barcode.
If it does not work
- Tap the search box first, so the scanner’s typing lands there.
- If the code appears but nothing is added, the scanner is not sending Enter after the code: set its suffix to Enter (CR) using the manual.
- If the code is read but no product is found, the product has no barcode in QuickBills yet: add it in Products.
